Pro-Cook students visited Portsmouth University on Tuesday 8th November to look at the under graduate and graduate courses on offer for hospitality and catering management.
They visited Highbury College and were shown round the facilities by the head of school including the restaurants and kitchens. The College described the progression routes available to the students following on from the Academy’s Professional Chef course leading to a full degree.
We then visited the university and looked at their teaching facilities along with the halls of residence. The university talked to the students of progression routes and then took us to meet a student who has just set up her own business in Portsmouth. Our students talked to her about her business, and how she achieved it, which they found very interesting and came away with all sorts of plans for being future entrepreneurs.
We all had a great day, with amazing planning and organisation by the university. The students found it really useful and are now aware that university is for everyone and not just a select few.
