6th Form students at the Wellington Academy are today celebrating their results. There were some strong results overall, with 65% of A Level grades being A*-C, matching last year’s best ever results, and over a third achieved A*-B. Students did even better in BTEC, with 64% of grades being the top two categories of Distinction or Distinction*, a significant improvement on 2015.
Some students achieved exceptional results. Head girl Marina Costello-Rigo achieved AAABC and will be going to Bath University to study International Management & Modern Languages. Kelly Alexander’s A*AAC will see her study English Literature at Reading University. Sanjay Lohani achieved a remarkable four BTECs at the top grade of Distinction*, and George and Arthur Robinson and Sheroescha Van Der Ross came out with three top BTEC grades.
In addition to 2016’s leavers, we have five high achieving students who left in 2015 starting university in September. These include Alix Williams (PPE at LSE), Dan Reynolds (Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough) and Grace Connor (Economics at UCL).
Overall, about half of our leavers will be heading to university and the others will be moving on to employment or further education/training.
Congratulations to all of our students and we wish them good luck for the future.
